The success of a community garden has been celebrated.

Children from Ashford Oaks Primary School have worked to keep the site between Beaver Lane and Crownfield Road as a wildlife habitat.

This has included tending the flower planters, managing the area to prevent litter and constructing more benches and a set of goal posts.

The event this week marked the current Year 6 children handing over the maintenance baton to Year 5 children, who will carry on with the work from September. The garden was developed thanks to the Project Purple Community Scheme.
