Council in a spin over new addition
More people can spin their way fit after a new space was opened in the Stour Centre.
Thanks to a £270,000 investment from Ashford Borough Council (ABC) and £100,000 from Ashford Leisure Trust four times as many spin cycle classes can now be held.
The ribbon was cut on the new dedicated studio by deputy mayor Cllr Winston Michael paving the way for additional sessions, including new virtual classes, at the centre’s Contours Gym.
Cllr Jessamy Blanford, ABC portfolio holder for leisure, said: “The new facility is fantastic and means Ashford’s population can benefit from the much-improved health and wellbeing offer at the Stour Centre.”
Wayne Hodgson, chairman of Ashford Leisure Trust, added: “This enables us to quadruple the number of sessions, will help us increase the sustainability of the ever-popular spin cycle classes and offers our customers an increased option and variety.”
