Skipper William Berry hit an unbeaten 84 and wicketkeeper Julian Bashford 50 not out as Smarden eased to an eight-wicket win at Dymchurch in Division 2. Jake Deem’s half-century and Lee Dickson (42) top scored in the home side’s 169-9. Tom Richardson’s 81 led Woodchurch (143-4) to a six-wicket win at Wye, with Alex Cotter’s 62 the highlight of the home side’s innings of 139. Challock suffered their first defeat of the season, as they slipped to 61 all-out in a low scoring contest at home to Worth (85-9). Mersham-le-Hatch (126) went down by eight wickets at home to Selling (130-2), who went top. Egerton’s struggles in Division 1 continued. Dismissed for 129, they lost by 71 runs at home to Wingham (200-9). Skipper Ryan Knight top scored with 42 as Stone-in-Oxney (153) went down by 85 runs at Harbledown (238-3). Stone started badly slipping to 20-4 at one stage. Pat Watsham (27) and Gary Woollett (20) were their other main scorers The club have arranged two 20-20 games against local rivals Woodchurch to raise money for president Rob Watsham’s Help for Heroes charity appeal. They were due to host the first match last night (Wednesday) with the return arranged for Friday, July 1. Mersham Sports are third after captain Matthew Fagg hit an unbeaten 47 in their 199-8 to see them home by two wickets at home to Horton Kirby. Jack Wilson claimed three wickets in the visitors’ 196-9. Kingsnorth (94) went down by seven wickets at Teston (97-3). Nick Graham top scored with 42 as Stowting (105-5) won by five wickets at Bredgar (101-8) in Division 5. Craig Taylor carried Little Chart (70-2) home to an eight-wicket win over St Nicholas & Sarre (69). Taylor took 3-14 and hit 34 not out. Rolvenden skipper Steve Stickels made 51 in his side’s 192 but his side lost by 15 runs at Linton Park (207-5). Great Chart (66 all out) lost by 160 runs at Littlebourne 2nds (226-6), while Andy Robinson made 66 in Bilsington’s (149-9) seven-wicket home defeat by Boughtonunder-Blean (150-3). James Isles (61) and David Finch (45 not out) took Kennington to 219-7 as they won by 115 runs at Hythe Green (105-7) in Division 6.
