looked set to join Vanarama National League Bromley last month.

The popular 25-yearold Ugandan had already committed himself to returning, before the Hayes Lane club, who appointed former Ashford boss Steve Lovell as their new assistant manager last week, sounded him out.

Lye said: “George has had interest from quite a few clubs, including Grays Athletic, having signed on dualregistration from the Essex club last season.”

However, Lye has stated nobody is guaranteed a starting place and wants the returning Daren Hawkes to push Kamurasi for the spot ahead of the new season.

He said: “We start with a clean sheet and there are no favourites. I can’t guarantee anybody a shirt.”

United’s pre-season starts at Sandyacres on Saturday week.

The Southern Counties East League’s annual meeting was due to take place at Lordswood last night (Wednesday) with the new two-division constitution for the 2016/17 season set to be confirmed.
