Spell of success as teams do their sums

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - School Report -

Keen pupils from Ashford’s Great Chart Primary School battled against Sandgate Primary School in a Spelling Bee Grand Final.

The event took place at Great Chart Primary School where children from across Years 5 and 6 from both schools were presented with a range of tricky spellings.

Pupils participated in teams and Sandgate school emerged as the overall winner of both the spelling bee and a maths competition.

Emma Letchford, finance and administration assistant at Great Chart said: “The day was a great success and both schools look forward to many more events together.”

Sandgate Primary School held a maths competition on the same day for Year 5 and 6 pupils to strengthen links between both schools.
