Restaurants’ big makeovers

- By Vicky Castle

Two restaurants on Ashford’s Eureka Leisure Park have been given major revamps.

Pizza Hut and McDonald’s have both undergone transformations, creating new jobs and promising better services.

Pizza Hut revealed its biggest ever refurbishment – a massive £785,000 makeover creating 10 new jobs.

The popular pizza chain even launched a new menu, which includes the new Ultimate Thin pizza and American-style waffles.

The restaurant now offers a cocktail bar, full drinks menu and a temporary outdoor popup bar.

Manager Geraint Pym said: “We are really excited to show off our new makeover. There’s no other Pizza Hut restaurant like it. It’s a huge step forward and a real game-changer for us.

“We have invested in standout features which really bring the restaurant to life, including an amazing illuminated feature wall.

“We also have our very own cocktail bar which has created a more animated night-time destination for our customers to enjoy.

“On top of that we’ve launched a brand new range of delicious menu items including the Kentucky style BBQ Ribs and warm cookie dough which we’re confident will be a huge hit.”

Ashford mayor Cllr George Koowaree officially opened the new-look McDonald’s on Thursday last week.

It now offers table service, digital self-service kiosks, freeto-use tablets with wifi, USB charging points, new decor and even a new children’s play area.

Franchisee Paul Crocker, who operates 17 McDonald’s restaurants across Kent, including Eureka Park, said: “We’re thrilled with the transformation because we’re committed to offering our customers more choice and fast service.

“Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our customers’ eating out experience, so the new technology we’ve introduced recognises the way people live their lives today.

“The addition of table service enables customers to order at the self-order kiosk and then sit down at a designated zone to get served.”
