Slimmers pile on the pounds

-

Slimming World members from across Ashford “raced for life” to raise money for charity.

More than 60 members, family, friends and pets took part in the race from across all 19 Ashford branches of the club.

Dan Dudman, 15, son of Slimming World consultant Julia Dudman, crossed the finishing line first with a time of 27.07 minutes.

Lesley Moody and Darren Laker were runners-up.

Julia Males, Slimming World consultant from the Wyvern school branch said: “Everyone had a great day with no pressure to run.

“Many have never done anything like this before so the sense of achievement was fantastic for many.

“Building confidence is a huge part of losing weight and this is a real boost to all that took part.”

The Ashford Slimming World groups are made up of nearly 1,500 members and in the first six months of 2016, they lost more than 2,500 stone between them.

More than £270 was raised on the day for their chosen charity, Cancer Research.
