Learning to be leaders of the future

Pupils learned new leadership skills as part of a Cabinet Office pilot scheme aimed at boosting confidence and decision-making.

Year 8 pupils at The North School, Essella Road, Ashford, were among those from just 15 schools picked in the government-backed Learn to Lead scheme. They completed tasks in a day-long session called This is our School.

Lee Cregeen, principal of the Essella community group within the school, said: “It was a fantastic experience for all involved.”

Pupils are expected to attend the National Student Conference next month to share their ideas and feedback.
