Roundabout work but no square cash

Reading about the changes by Ashford Borough Council to the roundabout at the bottom of Mace Lane, I wonder why the council is allowed to get away with this when they refuse to spend money on more important things like Bockhanger Square in Kennington.

The residents and local shopkeepers have campaigned for ages to get the council to do something to this square which has been neglected over the years.

We have been told there is no money to do this up, yet there is money for new sculptures on a roundabout. Jenny Blunt Copperfield Close, Kennington
