Paramedics were called to a secondary school after a caretaker started “behaving erratically” in front of shocked pupils.
Staff at The Norton Knatchbull School in Hythe Road called for an ambulance after the incident last Friday lunchtime.
Reports from parents that the incident involved a knife was involved have not been confirmed.
The staff member was said to be dismantling furniture when the “sudden and unexpected” outburst happened.
In an email to parents and carers, head teacher Susanne Staab said the incident was handled “swiftly” and safely by lunchtime duty staff.
Her message added: “A member of our staff was suddenly and unexpectedly taken very poorly and started to behave erratically. Please be assured that the school will take appropriate action to follow up with incident.”
