Works delays on motorway
Drivers have been reminded that the M20 will be closed for overnight works this week as resurfacing along a 30-mile stretch begins.
Highways England started work between junctions four and six at Maidstone and between junctions seven (Maidstone) and 13 (Folkestone) on Monday night.
The road will be closed in places up to Sunday night.
The coastbound carriageway closures between junctions four and six at Maidstone started on Monday and will take place between 8pm and 6am until Friday night. Another closure will be in place between 8pm and 6am next Sunday night (April 9).
A diversion via the A228, M2 and A229 will be in place.
Highways England says the work will “improve safety”.
The following closures will be in place for the rest of the week:
Today (Thursday) – westbound entry slip road at junction 12 (Cheriton)
Tomorrow (Friday) – eastbound exit slip road at junction 7 (Maidstone)
Diversions will be in place and signposted at each junction.
