Teaching assistant’s big effort for needy
Heather Hayes, a higher level teaching assistant at Tenterden’s Homewood School will take part in Sunday’s Brighton Marathon for the charity UNICEF.
Discovery College pupils at the school chose to back UNICEF after hearing about the plight of child soldiers, who are recruited to take part in battles worldwide.
Mrs Hayes has been working with the Year 7 and Year 8 pupils, together with sixth formers and since last February they have raised more than £600 for UNICEF, through various activities including cake sales, a tombola and treasure hunt.
