‘I really just want to prove I can do it again’
A Singleton woman will be undertaking her second marathon when she runs in Brighton on Sunday, 12 years after she last ran a marathon.
Jackie Jenner, 47, successfully completed the London Marathon in 2005 in a time of 4hrs 13mins.
In Brighton she is hoping to finish in under 4hrs 30mins.
She said: “I’d always wanted to do a marathon since I was a kid and got the chance to do the London Marathon, which I loved.
“I just started running seriously again about a year ago. Since then I’ve done a few 10ks and did the Folkestone half marathon.
“I really just want to prove I can do it again.
“I’m running on behalf of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, which is a great cause, and I hope to raise at least £250.”
Jackie runs a small business selling teddy bears and soft toys.
