Here we go – rockin’ all over the school

Musical interest amplified with ‘epic’ sessions

Egerton Primary School pupils have been learning modern music and took part in a school “rock day”.

Andrew Willmoth, acting head teacher, said music was an important and growing focus of school life and many pupils already had instrumental lessons, choir trips and violin concerts.

But when pupils said they wanted to play more modern music, teacher and rock guitarist Nick Davies stepped in.

Mr Willmoth said: “Nick brought drum kits, bass and electric guitars, keyboards, amplifiers – in fact everything required for an enthusiastic bunch of 10 and 11-year-olds to rock out.

“Additional help from parents made an exciting day possible and the shared view of the pupils was that the event was epic!”
