Lo­cal cricket clubs Ash­ford Town, Ten­ter­den and Mer­sham have been se­lected to be ‘All Stars’ cricket cen­tres, of­fer­ing five to eight-yearold boys and girls an in­tro­duc­tion to the sport through an eight-week pro­gramme start­ing on Sun­day, May 21. ‘All Stars’ cricket is a na­tional ini­tia­tive pro­duced and co­or­di­nated by the ECB. Par­ents sign their chil­dren on to the pro­gramme, then select a nom­i­nated cen­tre close to their home for the chil­dren to at­tend. Ev­ery child join­ing the scheme re­ceives their own kit bag con­tain­ing T-shirt, cap, bat, ball, and water bot­tle all con­tained in an All Stars back pack.
