Bat­tling win proves in vain

Ash­ford men’s 1sts’ rel­e­ga­tion to Kent/Sus­sex Divi­sion 2 was con­firmed de­spite spring­ing a shock as they beat lead­ers Tun­bridge Wells 4-3 at Ball Lane on Satur­day.

Although they had picked up four points in two games fol­low­ing their 3-3 draw at Maid­stone last Wed­nes­day night, rel­e­ga­tion was con­firmed as Wor­thing won 3-0 away at Burnt Ash.

In Open Premier B, Ash­ford 4ths con­ceded their match at Hol­combe, how­ever the re­sult didn’t mat­ter as they had al­ready been rel­e­gated.

The Cru­saders played out a 4-4 draw at cham­pi­ons-elect Black­heath & Old El t hami­ans i n Open Divi­sion 2.

The 6ths fin­ished off a dis­ap­point­ing sea­son off in style, beat­ing Herne Bay 4ths 4-2.

The ladies’ 1sts came from be­hind to draw 1-1 at rel­e­ga­tion-threat­ened Gore Court in East League South East, Divi­sion 2.
