Rail link would be better than road

Reading the article (KE, April 5) concerning the proposed new rail link between Faversham and Ashford, how about a new road link to replace the cart track that is the current A251?

Especially the bit between Faversham and Challock.

Combining all the various planning applications and heavy equipment etc to build the new rail-link, then a joint effort with KCC would seem the most economical way forward.

Of course it will never happen, such joined up thinking is not the way we do things! Terry Hudson, Russell Drive, Whitstable
