CLUB CELEBRATE CONVERSION OF TWO TARMAC COURTS INTO CLAY SURFACES
Patron Damian Green was at Wye Tennis Club on Saturday to officially open two new courts converted from tarmac to clay.
The Ashford MP is a big supporter and fundraiser, and his address highlighted the continued progress he has seen on his regular visits.
Mr Green also commended Wye for providing such a vibrant facility which brings enjoyment to so many.
He was also impressed that the club caters for all ages with oldest member Freddie Simson celebrating his 80th birthday next month.
Wye club now boasts five courts and a strong membership, supported by a hardworking and enthusiastic committee.
LTA vice-president Vanessa Webb praised the club, saying: “It has grown out of all recognition in the past eight years.”
