Connor Yates finished fourth in the opening round of the 100cc Auto Championship at West Meon in Hampshire on Sunday. The Ashford youngster was running well in his opening race, until he was forced wide to avoid a bike that had flipped over in front of him and getting stuck in deep mud, eventually finishing fifth. He then tangled with another rider at the start of the second race but did well to come from the back of the field to take fourth spot. The third race was stopped due to a rider needing medical attention and taken to hospital by air ambulance. Connor is next in action on Sunday week, riding at Grittenham near Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire.
