Driver was disqualified
A man from Ashford has been sent to jail after driving while disqualified and without insurance in the town.
Richard Michael Read was sentenced on Thursday, April 6, at Thanet Magistrates’ Court, after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He pleaded not guilty to another count of driving while disqualified and another count of driving without insurance but was convicted of the offences by magistrates.
On Monday, February 20, the 29-year-old, of Riverview, Ashford, drove a Ford KA in Leacon Road, Ashford, while disqualified and with no insurance.
On Saturday, March 4, he drove a Citroen Xsara Picasso in Riverview, Ashford, while disqualified and with no insurance.
Magistrates sentenced Read to 150 days in prison and banned him from driving for 36 months. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
