Woman given ban af­ter drink-driv­ing

A woman from Maid­stone was banned from driv­ing for nearly two years af­ter be­ing caught drink-driv­ing on the A20 in Ash­ford.

Sonya Broughton, was sen­tenced on Thurs­day, April 6, at Thanet Mag­is­trates’ Court.

She pleaded guilty to drink driv­ing.

On Sun­day, March 9, the 55-year-old, of Twyford Court, Maid­stone, drove a Ford Fo­cus on the A20, Ash­ford, and gave a breath test of 90 mi­cro­grammes of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath.

The le­gal limit is 35 mi­cro­grammes.

Mag­is­trates banned Broughton from driv­ing for 23 months.

She must also pay a £220 fine, £85 costs and a £30 vic­tim sur­charge.
