Spe­cial visit to school’s spring fair

High Sher­iff of Kent Ge­orge Jes­sel will be head­ing to The North School’s spring fair to meet mem­bers of their young farm­ers’ club at 11am on Satur­day.

He said: “As a Man of Kent I am keen to lend my sup­port to ru­ral or­gan­i­sa­tions, which pro­vide so much help to their com­mu­ni­ties.

“I am also pas­sion­ate about ed­u­ca­tion, and hope that dur­ing my year I can in­volve young peo­ple in the projects I sup­port.”

On his visit to the school, Mr Jes­sel will see the farm’s cows, calves, ewes and lambs, as well as their goats and small an­i­mals.

The in­com­ing sher­iff has his own farm busi­ness, with beef and sheep at East Brabourne and on Wye Downs.

The spring fair runs from 10am to 4pm and in­cludes a bar­be­cue, climb­ing wall, stalls and games as well as a chance to see the an­i­mals.
