Play with clay at artist’s workshop

The next in a series of art workshops taking place at Godinton House, near Ashford, will focus on sculpting in clay.
It is being led by artist Brenda Burgess and is a taster morning for those interested in trying out creating artwork in this medium.
For the last 25 years Brenda has worked with students of all ages and abilities providing a supportive environment in which to explore their talents.
Born on Merseyside in 1961, she studied at Kent Institute of Art and Design and Christ Church University, Canterbury.
After graduating, she took up the post of sculptor-in-residence at the Museum of Kent Life, Sandling, where she produced paintings and portrait sculptures while providing her educational workshop service to visiting schools.
She also worked at Leeds Castle, as their resident artist/educa- tor providing a range of artsbased workshops to visiting schools.
The workshop – on Wednesday, April 26 – starts at 10.30am with coffee, before the clay sculpting gets under way.
She will also lead future workshops on Tuesday, June 6; Tuesday, September 26 and Wednesday, November 15.
