Re­tailer backs colour-run fundraiser

Shop­pers in Ash­ford’s County Square were en­cour­aged to sign up to take part in the KM Colour Run when a pro­mo­tional road­show in­volv­ing staff and volunteers from Spec­savers and the KM Char­ity Team greeted fam­i­lies.

The an­nual event chal­lenges adults and chil­dren to take on a 5km course while be­ing cov­ered in coloured corn-starch pow­der paint.

Runners take part rais­ing spon­sor­ship for any char­ity or good cause they choose, with a small slice of the funds go­ing to­wards chil­dren’s lit­er­acy projects in the county.

Molly Sal­ter, of Spec­savers Ash­ford, said: “The KM Colour Run is fun for all the fam­ily. We are re­ally glad to be a part­ner in the event, and very much look­ing for­ward to plas­ter­ing every­one in coloured pow­der paint.”
