River race turns out to be a quacker
Hundreds of villagers enjoyed the Good Friday weather to take part in a village’s annual plastic duck race.
Children cast their ducks into the Royal Military Canal, at Warehorne, in an Easter event organised by the Woolpack Inn.
It was overseen by John Rodgers in the canoe, who awarded the first prize to Georgia Small and her son Peter, who won an Easter egg.
Families and villagers also enjoyed taking part, with puppy Betsy getting her first taste of the race with owner Eric Musgrove.
Organisers say that there were 200 ducks entered, and that the event raised £100 for the Kent Wildlife Trust to spend on the Romney Marsh project.
