Stu­dent’s big chal­lenge

Homewood School pupil Emma Carl­ton, 17, is is run­ning for Sense, a na­tional char­ity which sup­ports chil­dren and adults who are deaf­blind or have sen­sory im­pair­ments.

She has al­ready smashed her fundrais­ing tar­get of £1,500, with more dona­tions flow­ing in.

Miss Carl­ton said: “It will be my first ever marathon and I will be 18 the week be­fore the marathon.

“As it is my first marathon my tar­get is to com­plete it com­fort­ably and en­joy it.

“It is a mas­sive chal­lenge but I am ready to take it on.

“I am run­ning the Lon­don Marathon to help raise money for this amaz­ing char­ity and to be able to help pro­vide a bet­ter qual­ity of life for those af­fected.”
