Owen Dell says his trip to the Czech Republic last week was a great experience and something he would like to repeat.
The 14-year-old Towers School pupil, who plays for Gillingham-based Invicta Mavericks under-15s, spent four days in Nymburk, as part of an England National team programme designed to replicate the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championships. The team played four games, winning two of them.
The Czechs are fifth in the world rankings, while Great Britain are 24th, emphasising the gap in talent and skill level but Dell was pleased that he and his team-mates did well.
He said: “I enjoyed the week and playing abroad is something I’d like to do in the future.”
