Kay leads trio home

Ashford & District Road Running Club filled the top three places at the latest Ashford Summer Series 5k on Friday. Trevor Kay was first in a season’s best 17min 41sec ahead of Ryan Edwards, whose time of 18.18 was a personal best. Chris Boyce was third in 18.41, ahead of Paul Moses (18.54), Richard Baker (18.55), Kevan James (19.46), Stun Nunn (21.20), Brad Bunk (21.28) and Becky Hodgson (31.17). In the 10k, Rhian Shrimplin’s excellent time of 50.08 saw her finish as the first lady and 11th overall, while Jaclyn Kay lowered her personal best to 52.14 and crossed the line 15th place.
