Strovers strive for good cause
A family from Mersham will complete a six-month-long walking challenge in aid of a wildlife charity this weekend.
The Strover family have been walking the entire North Downs Way from Farnham, Surrey to Dover since January and have so far clocked up 175 miles.
The team, made up of dad Andrew, mum Philippa, and daughters Felicity, 14, Gaby, 13, Izzy, 10, and Darcey the dog , will complete the walk on Sunday with a walk from Capel to Dover.
The family are raising funds for WWF and have walked in blizzards as well as scorching sunshine to complete the walk over 20 weekends with walks between The Strover family have been raising money walking for the WWF five and 15 miles in length.
Philippa Strover said: “Instead of a New Year’s resolution, I challenged the family to walk the entire North Downs Way from Farnham in Surrey to Dover.
“We stayed in Surrey to complete 25 miles of the route and visited the WWF headquarters in Woking whilst there.
“Their work is essential in conserving our planet and its amazing wildlife for future generations, so we thought we could give our walk a purpose, other than our own pleasure.”
The family hope to raise £500 for WWF.
