Three lots of drama com­ing to vil­lage

The next in Lyminge Dra­matic So­ci­ety’s se­ries of Plays in the Pub will be J B Pri­est­ley’s An In­spec­tor Calls, to be read at the Coach and Horses in the vil­lage on Wed­nes­day from 7.30pm.

The evening will be run by the so­ci­ety’s Bar­bara Har­ris, an ac­tor/di­rec­tor/stage teacher of con­sid­er­able ex­pe­ri­ence. Any­one plan­ning to go is asked to call her on 01303 862185. Th­ese Plays in the Pub are where mem­bers of the so­ci­ety sit around a ta­ble and read the lines of a play over a drink.

Any­one can join in. No ex­pe­ri­ence is nec­es­sary, just turn up and have a bit of fun.

Cast­ing for the so­ci­ety’s au­tumn pro­duc­tion – An Evening With Alan Ben­nett – is on Wed­nes­day, July 26, at 7.30pm at Sibton Park Cricket Club.

The show will run from Thurs­day, Novem­ber 30 to Satur­day, De­cem­ber 2 at Lyminge Vil­lage Hall. There will be an Amer­i­can sup­per with the au­di­ence en­cour­aged to bring along food and drink, with the floor ar­ranged with chairs around ta­bles, cabaret-style.

Fi­nally, trav­el­ling the­atre com­pany The Rude Me­chan­i­cals are mak­ing a wel­come re­turn visit to the Tayne Field, Lyminge, on Sun­day, July 30, to per­form The Com­mer­cial Trav­eller. Visit http://www.therude­me­chan­i­calthe­atre.co.uk/
