Road widening work goes according to plan
The A2070 Kennington Road construction work is progressing according to plan.
Work on the project, which will widen the busy road between Givaudan and Blackwall Road North, has been under way for a few weeks now and during this period parts of the busy road have already been widened.
This week has seen work done on the underground drainage as well as new kerbs being installed and construction is now under way to build the new retaining wall – both of which will be finished to match the conservation area.
The project, which has put a heavier strain on town centre traffic due to the road being closed to vehicles in both directions, is due to be completed in early September.
