Family’s epic charity walk
A family from Mersham have completed a six-month-long walking challenge in aid of a wildlife charity.
The Strover family have walked the entire North Downs Way from Farnham, Surrey to Dover since January, clocking up hundreds of miles.
The team, made up of dad Andrew, mum Philippa, and daughters Felicity, 14, Gaby, 13, Izzy, 10, and Darcey the dog, completed the walk on Sunday with a walk from Capel to Dover.
The family have been raising funds for WWF and have walked in blizzards and scorching sunshine to complete the walk over 20 weekends with walks between five and 15 miles in length.
The idea occurred after mum Philippa Strover challenged the family to walk the entire North Downs Way from Farnham in Surrey to Dover instead of a New Year’s resolution. She said: “We completed the North Downs Way walk along with 34 of our friends! Sponsorship for the walk is open. Visit justgiving.com/PhilippaStrover
