Refurbished pub to reopen after summer
The new bosses of a popular town centre pub have confirmed that it will reopen by the end of summer after a refurbishment.
The George Hotel on High Street is now part of The Craft Union Pub Company and will be run by two sisters from the area when it reopens.
The building was taken over in April from previous landlord Tom Dixon, who also operates the Tickled Trout at Wye and the Flying Horse at Boughton Aluph.
A Craft Union Pub Company spokesman said: “The George Hotel, Ashford, will reopen later this summer with two popular local sisters at the helm, Vicky Pucknall and Hayley Hopkins.
“We’re delighted to have the friendly duo on board, who know the pub inside out having worked there before, and we’re excited to get started with the refurbishment project.
“We make a significant investment into all of our pubs.”
