Re­fur­bished pub to re­open af­ter sum­mer

The new bosses of a pop­u­lar town cen­tre pub have con­firmed that it will re­open by the end of sum­mer af­ter a re­fur­bish­ment.

The Ge­orge Ho­tel on High Street is now part of The Craft Union Pub Com­pany and will be run by two sis­ters from the area when it re­opens.

The build­ing was taken over in April from pre­vi­ous land­lord Tom Dixon, who also op­er­ates the Tick­led Trout at Wye and the Fly­ing Horse at Boughton Aluph.

A Craft Union Pub Com­pany spokesman said: “The Ge­orge Ho­tel, Ash­ford, will re­open later this sum­mer with two pop­u­lar lo­cal sis­ters at the helm, Vicky Puck­nall and Hay­ley Hop­kins.

“We’re de­lighted to have the friendly duo on board, who know the pub inside out hav­ing worked there be­fore, and we’re ex­cited to get started with the re­fur­bish­ment project.

“We make a sig­nif­i­cant in­vest­ment into all of our pubs.”
