Drink-driver’s 21-month ban

Mag­is­trates have banned a mo­torist from get­ting be­hind the wheel af­ter he was found to be dou­ble the drink drive limit.

Fran­cis Standen, 23, from Snave near Ash­ford, was stopped by po­lice driv­ing a Peu­geot 307 in North­down Park Road in Mar­gate on Sun­day, June 25, this year.

He ad­mit­ted drink driv­ing af­ter giv­ing a breath test which showed he had 75 mi­cro­grammes of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath. The le­gal limit is 35 mi­cro­grammes.

Thanet mag­is­trates banned him from driv­ing for 21 months and or­dered him to pay a £212 fine, £85 court costs, and £30 for a vic­tim sur­charge.
