Town growth highlighted
Councillors have praised continued improvements to Ashford town centre in a bid to attract new business and investment.
Ashford Borough Council’s cabinet discussed the annual town centre report at a meeting last week, when Cllr Graham Galpin said the rate of empty shops was below the national average.
Cllr Galpin focussed in particular on Park Mall Shopping Centre, which the council purchased 18 months ago, when there were 11 empty units.
He said today there are now just two empty shop units, and added: “This shows the extent of the work that’s been going on.”
