Your article ‘Jobs, shops and homes’ (KE, July 13) makes scant reference to the other essential for a thriving entertainment area – parking.
I have come up with some conservative guesstimates for cars coming into the town and have arrived at a figure of 1,225 against your figure for new spaces of 282 – assuming that Aldi and the Chaple Down Brewery will have on site parking. This does not take into account the extra 110 flats to be built on the Panorama site.
The extension to the South car park can be discounted for cinema-goers and hotel users as people will not walk that far – assuming they have endured
