A lot grow­ing on at so­ci­ety’s sum­mer show

Green-fin­gered gar­den­ers dis­played the fruits – and veg­eta­bles – of their labour in their al­lot­ments.

The Ash­ford Al­lot­ment So­ci­ety Sum­mer Show was held at Ken­ning­ton Ju­nior School on Satur­day, with flow­ers, veg­eta­bles and fruit all be­ing judged.

Ex­hibitor Brian Stamp cer­tainly knows his onions, he dis­played pol­ished red ones for the judges, while Emma Dew showed her sum­mer squashes.

Jeff Henry showed off his dis­play of roses, while Mark Chan­dler added the cherry on the cake with his cherry toma­toes.

Fi­nally Gre’ Sum­mers, Bert Pen­te­cost and Melonie Pen­te­cost set up their flo­ral dis­plays to wow the judges as well.
