Coun­cil­lors ig­nore home-build­ing fears

I read with ex­cite­ment to see what con­de­scend­ing tone our lo­cal coun­cil­lors would use with re­gards to the fan­tas­tic news that even more houses would be built in Ash­ford.

I strug­gle to see how words such as “en­gaged” or “em­pow­ered” can be used by any Ash­ford bor­ough coun­cil­lor in a pos­i­tive man­ner as they have failed to do any these for years.

Over the last 30 years, our great coun­cil has con­tin­ued to ig­nore con­cerns or ideas of the res­i­dents and cre­ated this per­cep­tion of ‘Trash­ford’.

If any­one needs to put their hand up to say they’ve cre­ated the cur­rent town, it is our coun­cil­lors.

Rather than ac­tu­ally lis­ten to res­i­dents and act on it, coun­cil­lors con­tinue down this self-de­struc­tive path of ig­no­rance/self-
