Score for hos­pice at sum­mer fair

Ash­ford’s Pil­grims Hos­pice is get­ting set for its pop­u­lar sum­mer fair.

It takes place on Satur­day, Au­gust 5, in the grounds of the hos­pice in Hythe Road from noon to 4pm.

Some of the nurses will be there in Hawai­ian dress to en­cour­age guests to try their hand at win­ning a co­conut.

There is also a cream tea area and a team from Nike at the Ash­ford De­signer Out­let will hold a beat-the-goalie com­pe­ti­tion.

There will be a free park and ride from Mer­sham-Le-Hatch busi­ness cen­tre with buses run­ning through­out the fair.

Vic­to­ria Friar, com­mu­nity fundrais­ing man­ager, said: “Last year the money raised by the fair was able to pro­vide for 1,125 hours of nurs­ing care. Please help us to achieve that again this year.”
