Four firms bid­ding to run our trains

The new fran­chise holder will take over Kent ser­vices from next year.

Four com­pa­nies bid­ding for the fran­chise are in the run­ning. Cur­rent op­er­a­tor South­east­ern, of­fi­cially called Lon­don and South East Pas­sen­ger Rail Ser­vices Lim­ited, a wholly owned sub­sidiary of Govia Lim­ited, will be hop­ing to con­tinue run­ning trains in Kent.

MPs sign­ing the let­ter are Damian Collins (Folke­stone and Hythe), Char­lie El­ph­icke (Dover), He­len Grant (Maid­stone and the Weald), Sir Roger Gale (North Thanet), He­len Whately (Faver­sham and Mid Kent), Gareth John­son (Dart­ford), Gor­don Hen­der­son (Sit­ting­bourne and Shep­pey), Kelly Tol­hurst (Rochester and Strood), Tracey Crouch (Chatham and Ayles­ford), Sir Michael Fal­lon (Sevenoaks) and Greg Clark (Tun­bridge Wells).
