Ray finds best form of season
Bradley Ray produced two top-10 finishes in the British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
The 20-year-old from Lydd finished 10th and eighth in his two rides, moving up to 15th in the standings to put a disappointing qualifying session the previous day behind him.
Ray, riding his Suzuki GSX-R1000, qualified on the seventh row of the grid on Saturday, following a downpour over the Brands Hatch circuit.
He described it as “disappointing,” following two good at Snetterton two weeks earlier.
He carved his way through the pack first time out, showcasing both his talents and the bike’s capability.
His was the only Suzuki to finish the race, highlighting the work which has gone into the bike to improve it’s reliability.
The race was cut short by two laps due to rain, meaning Ray finished 10th but his lap time was good enough to put him on the third row for race two.
Ray and Australian Jason O’Halloran sparred with each other throughout until the latter got away.
Ray then held off another challenge from Michael Laverty to finish eighth, his best result of the season.
Tenterden based Tim and Tristan Reeves maintained their 100% record in the Hyundai Heavy Industries British Sidecar Championship, grabbing the win by just 29 seconds.
