Fur­ley Park praised for sport­ing suc­cess

Fur­ley Park Pri­mary Acad­emy have been praised for their all-round sport­ing suc­cess.

The Park Farm school are Kent cham­pi­ons in seven dif­fer­ent sports and 29 com­pe­ti­tions and been Gold Mark win­ners for Sport and PE for the last five years.

Fo­cus­ing on in­clu­sion, the school have pro­vided pupils the op­por­tu­nity to com­pete in events both in and out of school time, with more than 300 young­sters in­volved.

Ash­ford and Dis­trict Schools Games or­gan­iser Neil Cas­tle: “Fur­ley Park con­sis­tently pro­duce high stan­dards and is a clear re­flec­tion of the ded­i­ca­tion and com­mit­ment of the school and staff to­wards phys­i­cal education and school sport.

“They of­fer a broad and di­verse PE cur­ricu­lum, de­liv­ered by pas­sion­ate and knowl­edge­able staff which is sup­ported by a com­pre­hen­sive pro­gramme of ex­tra cur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties de­signed to both nur­ture and sup­port.

He added: “The school have made ex­cel­lent use of the in­creased in­vest­ment in PE and school sport by em­brac­ing every op­por­tu­nity to take part in school games fes­ti­vals and tour­na­ments that en­ables them to test their skills against others.

“Fur­ley Park have de­vel­oped a model of ex­cel­lent prac­tice that shows just what can be achieved with a shared vi­sion for suc­cess and the ded­i­ca­tion and de­ter­mi­na­tion to see it through to fruition.”
