Supermarket thief jailed
A thief has been jailed after stealing booze and washing powder from supermarkets in Ashford and Canterbury.
Jamie Santer, of Cryol Road in South Ashford, appeared before Folkestone magistrates, where he admitted four thefts.
Over two days in June, the 34-year-old went to Asda in Ashford and took whisky, cider and two bottles of cognac worth £55.
Then in early July he went into the McColl’s shop in Stanhope Road and took wine and washing powder worth £28.
Finally, on Tuesday last week, he stole whisky, champagne, vodka, cognac and washing powder worth £250 from Sainsbury’s in Canterbury.
He was jailed for 18 weeks and must pay £115 for a victim surcharge.
