Fitness regime you can stick to

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - News -

A former army fitness instructor is launching his own fitness concept.

Timba uses sticks to increase for strength endurance, with low and high intensity cardio and partner exercises.

William Head, from Aldington, says he has drawn on his experiences to produce the concept.

He said: “I went back to my roots. Quite often we would not have access to any gym equipment, especially if we were away from base, so we would improvise with whatever kit was available.

“So using those experiences and my knowledge of martial arts, I wanted to create a fun, effective exercise concept that didn’t require benches, weights, medicine balls or kettlebells and steer away from the run-ofthe-mill aerobic, cardio based classes that sit in every town. Most of these fitness concepts are American. This one is from Ashford.”

The concept has been supported by Invicta Chamber and Mr Head is hoping to branch out across Kent.

Timba will launch at The North School on Friday, August 11, with classes every Friday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
