Fit­ness regime you can stick to

A for­mer army fit­ness in­struc­tor is launch­ing his own fit­ness con­cept.

Timba uses sticks to in­crease for strength en­durance, with low and high in­ten­sity car­dio and part­ner ex­er­cises.

William Head, from Ald­ing­ton, says he has drawn on his ex­pe­ri­ences to pro­duce the con­cept.

He said: “I went back to my roots. Quite of­ten we would not have ac­cess to any gym equip­ment, es­pe­cially if we were away from base, so we would im­pro­vise with what­ever kit was avail­able.

“So us­ing those ex­pe­ri­ences and my knowl­edge of mar­tial arts, I wanted to cre­ate a fun, ef­fec­tive ex­er­cise con­cept that didn’t re­quire benches, weights, medicine balls or ket­tle­bells and steer away from the run-ofthe-mill aer­o­bic, car­dio based classes that sit in ev­ery town. Most of th­ese fit­ness con­cepts are Amer­i­can. This one is from Ashford.”

The con­cept has been sup­ported by In­victa Cham­ber and Mr Head is hop­ing to branch out across Kent.

Timba will launch at The North School on Fri­day, Au­gust 11, with classes ev­ery Fri­day from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
