Village pub’s food among UK’s best
Rural publicans have made it through to the national finals of the Great British Pub Awards.
John, Karen and Charlotte Marshall run The George Restaurant and Bar in the village of Molash.
The family has beaten plenty of competition to be nominated as finalists in the Best Food category in the annual awards.
It follows two rounds of forensic scrutiny by judges, and the pub will now be up against four other pubs in the final.
The Marshalls face a further round of judging, before the result is announced at a glitzy ceremony at the London Hilton Hotel in Park Lane.
Mrs Marshall said: “The George is a family affair and I’m thrilled that we’ve got this far. We’re looking forward to showing the judges what makes our venue so special.”
The pub is part of the Punch Taverns group.
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 7.
