Grounds become gallery for work by 18 artists
The Sculpture In The Garden show at Godinton House is now open, bringing together the work of 18 artists.
It is running until August 13 with the gardens open daily from 1pm to 6pm.
The British artists have been chosen for their broad range of styles and materials, including Richard Cresswell’s steel and aluminium Murmuration, Lynn Baker’s glass daisies and tulips and Jo Ansell’s stone figures.
Six of the artists are new to this show and all the work is for sale.
Godinton’s head gardener Viv Hunt, who organises the annual show, said: “We are always thrilled to install the new work and see how it brings the garden to life.
“It’s a real joy to make the garden into a gallery for three weeks every year.
This year we have work for every bit of the garden – carved wood and stone for the wild garden, shining aluminium abstracts on the formal lawns and ponds and charming smaller figurative work for the intimate Italian garden. Every piece has its own space.”
