Browne in charge of club’s new academy

Ashford United have an­nounced plans for their new un­der-19 Academy start­ing in Septem­ber. Tri­als started this week and con­tinue ev­ery Tues­day and Wed­nes­day through­out this month, be­tween 4.30-6pm at Home­lands. For­mer Ashford player, ex-West Ham, Brighton and Dover de­fender Tony Browne is in charge of the new ven­ture. He said: “Play­ers go­ing into Years 12, 13 and 14 will be coached for two hours each day, play­ing ev­ery Wed­nes­day, as they com­plete BTEC Level 3 qual­i­fi­ca­tions. There is also the op­tion to com­plete a fully-funded per­sonal train­ing Level 3, which will al­low can­di­dates the op­por­tu­nity to go straight into work and build their own per­sonal train­ing busi­ness.” Any­one in­ter­ested should con­tact Tony @ schol­ar­ship@ash­for­dunit­edfc.com.
