Clean teens take on chal­lenge ‘Trash­ford’

A group of teenagers have ded­i­cated a week of their time to clear up the town and take on the “Trash­ford” chal­lenge.

The Na­tional Cit­i­zen Ser­vice (group set up The Trash­ford Ini­tia­tive in a bid to clear lit­ter from parks and also raise money for Keep Bri­tain Tidy.

Per­sonal de­vel­op­ment char­ity CXK de­liv­ers the gov­ern­ment funded scheme in Ash­ford, and said that the 14 young­sters were out ev­ery day last week, while oth­ers com­pleted a 5k spon­sored run.

The ob­jec­tive was to make the town some­where to be proud of by re­mov­ing lit­ter in places such as Ash­ford In­ter­na­tional Sta­tion, the town centre, Mill Court and Vic­to­ria Park.
