The match ended in a draw af­ter rain forced a de­layed start on Tues­day be­fore light­ning forced the play­ers off at 5pm with the Windies 132-4 in their sec­ond in­nings. How­ever, Billings rel­ished his spell in charge. The 26-year-old, who played as a spe­cial­ist bats­man with Adam Rouse tak­ing the gloves, said: “It’s an ab­so­lute honour to cap­tain my home county. “I’ve been at the club since I was eight and it’s a great chal­lenge against in­ter­na­tional op­po­si­tion. “I’ve not played a lot of red-ball cricket but I want to play more. I’ve cap­tained the (Eng­land) Li­ons a few times be­fore so it’s some­thing I’ve done. “Sam North­east is hav­ing a lit­tle break but has done a fan­tas­tic job on and off the pitch af­ter tak­ing over from Rob Key.”
