Daniels takes centre stage

David Daniels cel­e­brated his 1,000th game for Great Chart, on the fi­nal day of the club’s cricket week on Friday.

He skip­pered the Club XI, mak­ing 26 be­fore retiring not out in a to­tal of 158-6 as the game against the Chair­man’s XI (180-9) ended in a draw.

Lo­cal MP Damian Green was there to mark the oc­ca­sion with a pre­sen­ta­tion. Both teams formed a guard of honour as Daniels walked out.

The game held the pre­vi­ous day was also drawn, as Great Chart made 190-9, re­ply­ing to the Old Sta­cians Old Boys’ to­tal of 252-4.

Chart were 51-2 against Pic­cos Xl on Tues­day, be­fore rain ended pro­ceed­ings.

Ash­ford Post Of­fice (158-6) beat Chart (156) by four wick­ets on Mon­day.
